Hey!
It’s been quite a while and that’s only because natural hair care hasn’t changed much since we last talked. However, since someone tried to walk off smooth with my logo, I figured that’s a sign that I need to let folks know… I’m Still Here. Since 2014 with that logo that was a paid and fully directed commission. No AI.
So much to catch up on.
While away, I cut my hair all the way off… again. I loved having a bald head. It made everything easier. I was outside swimming and running like my name is… well, Margaret, but not like this. The baldy came after my second set of locs. You can look back on the journey with my first set. However, instead of trying to unloc, I chose the chop.
Growing while Grey ain’t easy, folks. I had to use my tools and tricks, then adjust to the unruly nature of melanin free strands. I got good and grey this time too. No more cutting the silvers at the root. If I did that half my density would be on the floor. I had to learn to live with it.
Young face, old hair… make it work.
Microlocs enter the chat.
What’s the difference between microlocs and Sisterlocks (r)? An IP protected method. The women who developed that method did so after much research and business acumen. I love the way they look. But as for me and my less than symmetrical skull, I officially went the microlocs way on June 16, 2025.
Why? The braid hair is trying to take us out y’all. Some dope scientists with our best interest at heart tested the braiding hair and almost all of it has toxic chemicals. Don’t take my word for it, here’s the article.
So, my normal grow-out method of getting the braids that will fit my hair length was about to get very expensive. I was able to find the afro kinky hair to see how I could creep back into my DIY hairstyles. I did. After enjoying a few rounds and versions of added hair two-strand twists, I took the plunge the day before my annual Auntie Vacation.
Enjoy this gallery of what I’ve been up to with this hair and it ends with my latest loc journey. L3 we’ll call them.

Sidenote. L2 are sitting in a sating scarf… just in case LOL.
